Mt Langi Ghiran ‘Billi Billi’ Shiraz 2021 Grampians – 12 Bottles
$233.00
WINERY INFORMATION Working as a consultant for the Fratin brothers (the original owners of Langi), Trevor Mast purchased Langi in 1987 with the vision of producing cool-climate Shiraz wines way before this style became popular. In 1996, the 1994 Langi Shiraz gained international acclaim when it was shown on the cover of Wine Spectator. This cemented Langi’s status as a premium producer of cool-climate Shiraz in Australia. In 2002, Trevor Mast sold Langi to the Rathbone family to allow the brand to grow. He remained the Head Winemaker, until 2004 when he was replaced by Dan Buckle, a winemaker who has worked with famed Australian wine critic James Halliday. TASTING NOTES ‘Billi Billi’ Shiraz appears as an opulent dark red liquid when poured in the glass. Upon swirling the wine, the nose is greeted with fresh red and black fruit aromas laced with black pepper, dark chocolate and fragrant spice nuances. The palate features red berry fruit flavours with spicy hints of clove, pepper and blue florals. This tight and well-crafted wine is best enjoyed with chicken, pork, pasta and other savoury dishes. Drink now or wait until 2019 to enjoy its flavour profile to the fullest.
