Xanadu Circa 77 Chardonnay 2021 Margaret River – 12 Bottles
$232.00
The mysterious and exotic city described by renowned English poet Samuel Coleridge, Xanadu Wines was started by Dr John Lagan in 1977. He and his wife, Eithne planted their first vineyard in the Margaret River region, the same year. The Rathbone Wine Group later acquired the company in 2005. TASTING NOTES A pale straw coloured wine with a fresh and fruit-driven bouquet displaying crunchy stone fruits, pear, and zesty grapefruit characters accompanied with underlying hints of nectarine and cashew. The oak plays a supporting role here yet its subtle influence adds another layer of subtle complexity. The medium-bodied palate offers white-fleshed stone fruits and zesty citrus flavours with a delicate creamy texture derived from lees stirring. A bright, refreshing, crisp and dry wine with a lingering fruit finish. Savour it best with crab, lobster, shrimp, or mussels.
