WINERY INFORMATION: Chard Farm had managed to encompass four vineyards, in addition to constructing a winery on the home block by the early 90s. Still, it wasn’t until the mid 90s that Chard Farm became known as a popular Central Otago wine company. Operated by Rob and Gerdi Hay along with their three children, the Chard Farm winery is located at RD 1 in Queenstown, New Zealand. TASTING NOTES: Crafted using grapes from the best blocks planted in the vineyards of the Lowburn / Parkburn sub-region, Mata-Au Pinot Noir presents a deep purple-red hue. Enticing aromas of florals, dried herbs and dark spice flow off the scintillating bouquet. The textural palate is an amalgam of red and blue fruits, which combine with fine and silky tannins to a lengthy and mineral driven climax.
