Henschke Hill of Grace Shiraz 2015
$864.99
Henschke’s Hill of Grace is easily Australia’s most sought after single vineyard wine, and rivals Penfolds Grange for the title of the country’s greatest ever wine. The vineyard was established at Parrot Hill in the Eden Valley (around 1860) by Nicolaus Stanitzki and has since been handed down through the generations to the Henschke family. Although first produced in 1958, it took nearly 30 years before the Hill of Grace Shiraz became truly famous, an effort recognised to be connected to the hard work and dedication of Stephen and Prue Henschke. The 2015 release of this icon wine is already considered to be one of the greatest in its history with perfect 100 point scores from renowned critics such as James Suckling while Huon Hook had this to say – “The intensity and length are prodigious but it’s the refinement of texture, the velvet softness of the tannins, the sublime texture, and quiet array of flavour complexities that seduce. It is already extraordinarily detailed and that’s part of the genius of Hill of Grace wine. It’s a gorgeous drink now, and will be for another 20 or 30 years. This is one of the greatest vintages of Hill of Grace” 99 points The Finer Details Style – Red Wine Varietal – Shiraz Country – Australia Region – Eden Valley, South Australia Vintage – 2015 Bottle Size – 750ml ABV – 14.5%
