Mount Mary Marli Russell RP2 Red Blend 2019
$62.99
It was a relatively warm and dry vintage that provided the perfect endorsement of the Middleton family’s decision to embark on this endeavour in the first place. The red Rhône varieties – Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre and Cinsault were selected for their ability to thrive in warmer, drier conditions. This wine has a strikingly bright, vibrant hue when first poured into the glass. The nose is bursting with small red-berry aromas and spice. It quickly draws you back in for another look as it slowly reveals it’s many layers of complexity. On the palate there are raspberries, strawberries, cherries and spice. Complex, thoughtful yet utterly delicious wine, which will flesh out further with age. Strawberry, watermelon, roses, spice, musk sticks and mint. Silky, cherries with a floral mouth-perfume, biscuits and jamon, fresh and cool feeling wine, emery board tannin, pomegranate and baking spice on a long and svelte finish. So fine and graceful. Distinctive and different. It’s a beautiful wine. Effortless, seemingly. – 95 points Gary Walsh, The Wine Front The Finer Details Style – Red Wine Varietal – Grenache, Mourvedre, Shiraz, Cinsault Country – Australia Region – Yarra Valley, Victoria Vintage – 2019 Bottle Size – 750ml ABV – 13%
