WINERY INFORMATION Catalina Sounds lies in the prominent Marlborough wine belt, a region famed for its production of premium wines. This area enjoys a cool climate, ideal for such cool-climate varieties as Pinot Noir. Peter Jackson, its winemaker, believes in crafting wines representative of the Marlborough region. TASTING NOTES Fruit from three outstanding vineyards was used to produce this impressive Pinot, an alluring combination of dark berry fruits, floral elements and spice. This mesmerizing Pinot has a deep garnet red hue, with its vibrant nose being an attractive combination of red and dark berry fruits, spice, dark plums and lifted floral tones. It is profuse and full of flavour, with a smooth elegance. The primary palate boasts of berry fruits, with mild dried herb strains in the background. It is delicately structured with soft enduring tannins which combine well with the supportive acids and plush fruit subtly lingering in the mouth. Being a medium-bodied wine, it matches well with lamb, pork and poultry dishes as well as charcuterie, spiced crispy duck skin and seared chicken liver.
