Delinquente Roxanne the Razor NAND Blend 2023
$24.99
Delinquente makes small batch, minimal intervention wines from Southern Italian grape varieties grown in the Riverland, South Australia. The team was born and raised in the Riverland, surrounded by vineyards and the mighty Murray River. Delinquente is their attempt at making the best wine they can from the place they grew up. Organically grown, minimal intervention, honest, hand-made wines that not only are great fun to drink, but represent the sun, the red dirt and uniquely Australian terroir of the Riverland. Negroamaro and Nero d’Avola are the two varieties that are perfectly suited to the hot, dry Riverland and the nature of the wines we want to make. The cooler vintage conditions meant that acids remained high and flavours developed intensity and nuance. Wild fermented in stainless steel, each parcel was picked and fermented separately, and blended prior to bottling. The cooler vintage this year sees this wine tip further into the “chilled red” zone than previously. Bright and juicy with very little tannin, the lovely earthy, amaro-esque savouriness, cola berry/chinotto characters are still there, but play second fiddle to the sour cherry jubey fruit vibe. A Riverland version of Beaujolais, using varieties appropriate to the place they are grown. Wild fermented in stainless steel, each variety is were picked and fermented separately – the Negroamaro and Nero d’Avola on skins for 7 days, the Aglianico pressed off after 3 days. Everything is blended prior to bottling.
