Siduri Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2018

Siduri, named for the Babylonian goddess of wine, specializes in cool-climate Pinot Noir from growing regions across California and Oregon. The winemakers’ constant pursuit of perfection has led to long-standing relationships with top growers in premier appellations from Oregon’s Willamette Valley to California’s Santa Barbara County. Minimal intervention used to ensure winemaking expresses what happens in the vineyard. Unfiltered and unfined, maximizing the expression of these very diverse sites. The Siduri Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2018 was sourced from some of the most esteemed vineyards in Clos Pepe, John Sebastiano and La Encantada. These three vineyards blended seamlessly to offer flavours of the full spectrum of red, blue and black fruits. Additionally, the finely tannic structure of the wine weaved the flavours together against a backdrop of fresh acidity. Several whole-cluster fermentations (25%) added a pleasant earthiness to the wine, lending lift to the aromatics and a pleasant grip on the finish. This wine is sure to be a crowd pleaser and is a celebration of the beautiful 2018 vintage in the Santa Rita Hills. The mild weather of 2018 and lack of fall rain produced rich, opulent wines with intense colour and aromatics. Aromas of fresh raspberry, strawberry, rose petal and pine resin lead to flavours of boysenberry, black cherry, nutmeg and star anise on the palate. A delicate tannic grip and freshened by pleasant acidity are long lasting on the finish.
