Ulithorne Chi Shiraz Grenache

This wine is essentially the balance of two varieties, found in balance within our vineyards. Balance, or ‘Chi’, is the key when blending this Rhone inspired wine. The blue accents on the label represent the beautiful seas found only 4 km to the west; they bring cool afternoon breezes that aid in the development of the complex flavours. The gold background on the label represents the deep ancient sand hills in which the vineyards were planted in 1950. This wine is an example of the elegance that an old vine Shiraz and Grenache can bring to the table. With wild strawberries and raspberries on the nose and a lightness of bright cherries and spice on the lengthy palate, the flavours are delightfully balanced with soft tannins. This wine is ideal wine with Mediterranean meat dishes. There is a European style to the weight of this wine, which comes from the quality vines, thoughtful viticulture, and a dedication to detail in vinification techniques.
