Wirra Wirra Vineyards Scrubby Rise Chardonnay Adelaide – 6 Bottles

WINERY INFORMATION When the late Greg Trott christened a flat, barren landscape at the front of our winery ‘Scrubby Rise’, he started a theme that things aren’t always as they seem at Wirra Wirra. In keeping with Trott’s laid-back Aussie humour, today the vineyard is overlooked by a viewing platform known as ‘The Jetty’, while a well-dressed gent in a red boat rows between the vines. The message is not to take life too seriously. TASTING NOTES Pale straw with light green hues. Youthful vibrant nose of lemon zest and white peach flesh with complex notes of cinnamon, clove spice and citrus blossom. Juicy sweet peach and pear fruits flood the palate while lemon and grapefruit support the richer flavours of the stone fruit. Balanced, bright acid supports the stone fruit resulting in a relaxed juicy palate complementing the aromatics. This Chardonnay is a wine that can be enjoyed with or without the accompaniment of food. We suggest a dish like a country roast chicken with a side of green beans and roast carrots with caraway.
