Xanadu Circa 77 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2022 Margaret River – 12 Bottles
$234.00
The mysterious and exotic city described by renowned English poet Samuel Coleridge, Xanadu Wines was started by Dr John Lagan in 1977. He and his wife, Eithne planted their first vineyard in the Margaret River region, the same year. The Rathbone Wine Group later acquired the company in 2005. TASTING NOTES A pale straw coloured wine with a slight green tinge. The vibrant bouquet of this wine exhibits fresh passionfruit and citrus characters with dried herbs and hints of lemon sherbet in the background. A subtle barrel ferment complexity is quite evident. The medium-bodied and zesty palate offers freshly squeezed lemon/lime flavours combined with tropical fruits and a touch of spice. An easy-drinking ‘classic’ Margaret River wine style with wonderful purity – crunchy, fruit-driven, lip-smacking dry with crisp acidity, subtle texture from the barrel ferment component yet with and a clean refreshing finish. Try it with chicken, turkey, pork, halibut, crab or lobster.
